Daily Duties at Leggett & Platt, Inc.:
Internal corporate consultant to Leggett & Platt manufacturing plants On a daily basis I was responsible for Six Sigma/Lean and Process Engineering support in 3 business groups with around 140 manufacturing facilities. On a normal day I contacted plants directly or through their senior corporate VPs to assess potential need for Lean or Six Sigma support, planned out Kaizen and long term projects jointly with an in-plant contact, travelled to multiple plants 2-3 weeks/month to conduct the projects and then monitor their success and mentor the plant coordinator to take over ownership of the process so I could move on to another plant. Intervention level consulting with financially troubled facilities such as Hanes Dye & Finishing where we kept the plant from closing.
