Managed and implemented LAN/WAN upgrades and new installations for several City of Riverside Departments, including Police, Fire, Public Utilities, IT Department. Participated in team meetings with other Project Managers to ensure integrated and coordinated solutions. Provided consulting support to City business units. Assessed business and technical requirements and helped develop solutions. Reviewed proposed vendor products for security and integration into City's network. Wrote counter-proposals, reviewed contract language, and assisted in RFP development. Defined scope of work, network design, BoM, and costing for numerous projects. Managed and coordinated with vendors to implement defined SOW. Designed and implemented secured, isolated network for cashiers processing credit and debit payment cards (prior to PCI-DSS standards). Published recommendations for isolating and upgrading security for City's SCADA control systems. Led team to create security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. Designed and wrote server hardening specifications for server admins and vendors. Evaluated, tested, and created knowledge-based network security assessments. Directed activities of third-party security consultants for audits and to perform remediations. Wrote executive level summaries of technical issues, threats, and solutions for senior manager.
