Daily Duties at World Space.Inc:
From 10/1997 to 9/2009, As Director of Travel Services, I Directed World-wide travel function, developing policies and internal systems to reduce expenses. Audited travel expenses to ensure adherence to policies. planning, and overall operational execution of large conferences as well as small meetings domestically and Internationally. Coordinated global company resources to support performance objectives. Negotiated with airlines, hotels, car companies and other service providers to secure discounted rates. Supervised 5 employees. Implemented an in house travel office to keep a closer eye on spending. Prepared a travel policy that mandated all employees in the 14 offices to go through the travel office, and use the airlines,hotels and car rental companies that signed contract to give nogatiated (discounted) rates. Always kept the balance of saving money as well as providing comfort to employees; like hotel rooms included amenities like breakfast and Internet access. Made sure suppliers negotiated contract are met to ensure the continuity of lowest possible rates. Created individual profiles in the online system that will notify their managers if the employee try to do something outside of policy. Audited travel expense report and only reimbursed charges that was incurred by using the negotiated rates wisley.
