Daily Duties at Va Medical Center:

• Work closely with American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) to resolve employee relation issues. Answered complaints and grievances filed by union officials and developed decision letters. • Review yearly trends, develop yearly goals that are implemented to improve daily processes. • Develop and manage the yearly budget of more than 30 million dollars per year. • Manage staffing, employee relations, benefits administration, training, succession planning and HRIS. • Administers award and/or compensation program, monitors performance evaluations. • Write policies and procedures daily. dress codes, security, recruiting procedure, time and attendance, taking breaks, and vending machine. MIRADOR Page 2 • Maintain competence with regards to federal regulations to assure department stayed within compliance. • Achieved savings by automating procedures which reduced staffing and increase productivity. • Supervise, train and mentor seven managers and 120 staff. • Implemented, developed and revised services, policies and procedures daily to stay in compliance with state, local and government regulations. • Assisted and provided technical assistance to management team. • Key player in the recruitment process. • Oversee the investigation and administration of Workers Compensation • Guide and advise employees and management regarding FMLA, and other forms of leave. • Developed and implemented strategies that attract, develop, and retain employees in an environment that has constant change. • Plan recruitment strategies for short term and long term projects. • Developed and implemented programs to improve human resource programs. • Major contributor in contract negotiations. • Established highly effective employee relations programs. • Conducted coaching and training sessions for new managers.
