Daily Duties at Nations'port:
"Recovery" CEO responsible for reinvigorating and redesigning a bi-state port mobility advocacy organization to address maritime and land side transportation and land use challenges impeding effective and competitive goods movement through the Port of New York and New Jersey. o Redeveloped the board, creating a viable plan of work and corresponding budget, leading government, public and corporate outreach. o Recruited critical stakeholders to bi-state business association, expanding board from 5 to 26 executives and reinvigorating alliances with corporate and government decision-makers in over 20 agencies in two states. o Built/managed sustainable business structures, redefining goals, mission statements and strategic/financial plans to ensure alignment with organizational priorities including phased business plans detailing resource requirements, programs and services, marketing and outreach. o Developed and implemented public outreach strategies (media, speaking engagements, presentations) to garner support, investment and buy-in for a wide variety of programs and services. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES EMPLOYED: Problem identification, analysis and resolution; develop and implement complex plans and procedures; strategic planning and implementation; project management, prioritization and program evaluation; create and deliver compelling written and oral communication;grant writing and management; contract management and budgeting; effective human resource management including matrix leadership; multitasking; establishing priorities; abstract and synthesize information; work effectively with internal and external partners; create coalitions of divergent parties; and exercise balanced judgment in interpreting situations and making decisions.
