Daily Duties at Black Hills Corp:
Partnering with South Dakota utility company to initially provide expertise on newly acquired subsidiaries operating on PeopleSoft 8.8 to get thru daily, monthly and annual processing. Work eventually transitioned from daily support into reimplementation of PeopleSoft 9.0 for the entire corporation, and after implementation in August 2010, daily support for new 9.0 systems. Major Contributions: • Transitioned PeopleSoft 8.8 from original design of acquired company to meet Black Hills’ changing requirements due to different corporate structure. • Led an audit and gap analysis of PeopleSoft 9.0 providing a prioritized list of functionality implementation suggestions aimed at process improvement and enabling efficiencies in the entire organization. • Acted as functional lead for General Ledger module implementation as well as lead analyst for accounting functions in other modules including Accounts Payable, Travel and Expense, Project Costing, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Purchasing, Inventory, Time and Labor and Payroll. • Designed and developed PeopleSoft 9.0 chartfield and business unit structure, combination editing, tree design and custom defaulting routine aimed at ensuring accuracy and ease of use. • Coordinated the definition and population of all configuration tasks for all modules. • Provided 9.0 PeopleSoft support for all GL module functions as well as accounting functions in all other modules to cover for staff vacancy.
