Daily Duties at U.S. Department Of Labor:
Trained over 160 supervisors and 500 employees on human resources policies and programs. Counseled managers and supervisors on employee conduct and performance problems and drafted disciplinary actions. Provided advice to managers and employees on performance management program and agency leave and pay policies including family medical leave, maternity leave, sick leave, religious leave, court leave and overtime/compensatory time. Administered the agency grievance process and managed over 120 cases from initial filing to settlement or arbitration. Served as technical representative for 43 cases appealed to arbitration and mediation. Researched case background, collected documents, and prepared agency exhibits. Provided attorney with case summary, analysis, and recommendations. Prepared witnesses to testify on behalf of management. Reported to the Director of Labor Employee Relations on the status of all grievance and arbitration cases. Managed agency workers’ compensation program. Provided guidance to employees on program requirements, procedures, and benefits. Monitored program for efficiency and implemented actions to reduce costs. Provided monthly reports to senior management on status of all injury claims. Managed the agency drug testing, telework, and ethics programs.
