Daily Duties at St. Alexius Hospital:

Started nursing career in 16 bed ICU/CCU unit. Extensive skills developed with cardiac, vascular and neurological post-op surgical care. Worked closely with surgeons and anesthesiologists. providing hourly charting and reports of patient status. Mixed all IV medications, swan ganz monitoring, ballon-pump expertise and assisted with ventilator cares. Became charge nurse with skilled experience care of critically unstable surgical patients Member of air transport team .•Analyzes assessment data to determine the nurse diagnoses or issues •Develops an individualized plan of care, and coordinates care delivery •Administers prescribed medications and treatments •Provides patients and family members with relevant health care education and instructions regarding treatments and procedures including pre/post hospital care as appropriate •Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate
