Daily Duties at Kehillah Jewish High School:
In my many roles from serving as the board liaison (scheduling board meetings, taking minutes, preparing the agenda and materials for the board packets, and scheduling all related committee meetings resulting from action items); assisting the head of school (scheduling and calendaring meetings, authoring correspondence on her behalf, travel coordination and itineraries, screening calls, personal and professional appointments, etc.); human resources manager (including all benefits administration for all faculty and staff, approval of timesheets for payroll, tracking and handling of employee documentation and files including creating contracts for new employees and all related new hire and exit processes; Operations Manager (including hiring the Chef and managing the food program (kosher),facilities management of a 50K square foot building including the IT department, maintenance, licensing, insurance policies, inspections, responsibility and scheduling of all room reservations within the school and with outside organizations, coordinating the transportation program (hiring driver, insuring the driver, arranging for the rental vehicle, students participation schedule), negotiating contracts with vendors for equipment and services while increasing quality of service; managing staff and filling in when those individuals were ill or on vacation; proofing all outgoing documentation in the school; preparing for WASC and CAIS accreditation including serving on review committees resulting in positive accreditation; working directly with the business office manager to ensure compliance of recording receipt of monies from donations, student trips, rent from tenants, as well as finance committee meeting schedule and follow through; ordering and approval of all equipment and supplies; assisting the Heads of Academics as necessary; acting as school nurse when necessary; travel arrangements for visitors to the school, managing graduation (including diploma creation, invitations, programs, videographer, photographer, and the actual graduation ceremony itself); grant preparation for student programming, and any and all other requests made by the head of school, faculty, directors and staff as needed. I wore many hats and took responsibility for the running of the school!!!
