Daily Duties at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center :

I primarily worked on the evening shift scrubbing on everything except open heart. While the day shift was assigned to work within a specfic specialty the evening consisted primarily of the more experienced people who were required to work on any type of operation they were assigned to from neuro to orthopedic to general. Long Beach Memorial is a major trauma center and I also took call at this hospital both at night and on weekends. As per Diem when I quit I was working with one of the doctors who worked there at another hospital. He told me the evening head nurse was upset because I was her best tech and could do any case she assigned me to. I told him the way nurses and techs were treated there did not make for a happy atmosphere. Following my leaving the hospital went union and they eventually fired the OR manager who was responsible for many of the nurses leaving there.

What they like about Long Beach Memorial Medical Center :

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
