Daily Duties at Houston Police Department:
Conducted a variety of research and analysis assignments dealing with law enforcement issues. Researched relevant statutes, rulings and precedents to be used as a basis for answering requests for legal opinions, subpoenas, and various law enforcement projects. Fielded and answered informal (via telephone) inquiries from members of the Department, citizens and outside attorneys. Assisted law enforcement personnel in identifying grant funding opportunities and completing grant applications. Conducted legal and financial reviews of grant/contract proposals and/or awards prior to account establishment; review and interpret terms and conditions and recommend changes as necessary to ensure compliance. Expertly managed a grant portfolio in excess of $2 million.
