Daily Duties at Textron Marine And Land Systems:

Perform source development, preparing requests for proposals, negotiating, administering and controlling subcontract programs involving large dollar volume or complex procurements of major electrical, mechanical and electromechanical systems, subsystems or components. Insure proper investigations and surveys accomplished to confirm qualifications of potential subcontractors. Structure subcontract and obtain proper authorities, required approvals, including Government consent as applicable. Analyzes adequacy of current policies and recommends improvements or modifications. Administers all matters related to the subcontract through its life including the proper closeout. Functions as the leader for all indirect procurement activity as well as serving as a key member of the assigned product line team. Support customer program reviews, configuration change board, and marketing activities as required. Develops and leads material cost reduction activities, including re-sourcing activities as necessary. Review major subcontracts for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and prime contracts. Insure all proposal plans are supported with required subcontract/material estimates in a timely and accurate manner. Use knowledge of subcontractor capabilities and coordination with internal technical engineering, manufacturing and other program personnel for proper administration of the subcontract. Represent the Director of Supply Management at meetings with key customers and key suppliers, as required.
