Provide legal and administrative counsel to Judge Walton; draft memorandum opinions on various areas of the law, including employment discrimination law, international law, arbitration, agency regulation, contract disputes, and personal injury, as well as cases of high public interest and national security; holding TS/SCI-level government security clearance. Provide recommendations for the resolution of a number of active habeas corpus petitions by “High Value Detainees” at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Bagram, Afghanistan. Supervise interns and volunteer law clerks tasked with conducting legal research and ensuring successful integration of all incoming interns, law clerks, and voluntary clerks. Responsible for maintaining daily operations of Judge Walton’s Chambers, including all administrative duties.
