Daily Duties at County Of Merced Sheriff:

As a Sergeant I supervised and assisted Deputy Sheriffs and other personnel in carrying out assigned departmental functions. I supervised and managed the Sheriffs Dispatchers and Communications Center. I Supervised and Managed the Sheriff’s Water Rescue and Recovery Team. I handled scheduling and time off requests for various patrol shifts. I coordinated the Field Training Program and Reserve Deputy Program. I have authored grant applications that have awarded the Merced Sheriff’s Office over $700,000.00 in funding to procure equipment. I prepared employee evaluations. I handled complaints from the community and conducted Internal Affairs Investigations. I was assigned to the Dos Palos Police Department as Police Manager from November 2006 thru March 2007. I managed the contract and security for the Los Banos Spring Fair and Merced County Fair. Among other duties, I also participated in outside investigations related to employee conduct for other law enforcement agencies. Some of these investigations involved undercover work and surveillance.
