Daily Duties at Flint Hills Resources:

Unit startup advance team number one. Strategic planning, Team leadership/training, Full lifecycle project Mgmt., Cost reduction/avoidance, vendor relations/purchasing, problem solving, supply chain management, contract negotiations, customer communications, process improvement, regulatory compliance, OJT safety enforcement, logistics coordination. Work with contract venders for the proper unit for our needs to add an additional Hydrocracking unit. This is from infancy to a full cycle unit with ultra-low sulfur diesel product and by-products. This was led by me and a team of great men that I was in charge of. I dealt with only the owners and general Forman. All trades had been represented. Sixty-five hundred men and woman who assembled a $400 million dollar project safelyI oversee and assist the maintenance day number one position. Directing the maintenance within the units I am qualified to run, on a day to day basis 365. "Safe work Permit" process, to do work with/on hydrocarbon based equipment. Help the verification of what piece or pieces of equipment need resources, P&ID verification. Working directly with the lead engineer and several of her assistant engineers and staff. Working directly with Management to oversee moves. I oversee the meetings to get us out from a shutdown or outage, in which all trades are represented. I Deal with only the General Forman from these groups-Our company electricians, mill rights, welders, boilermakers, instrumentation, analyzer gang. From the core contractor groups- Laborers, Carpenters, Mill rights, electricians, pipe fitters, boilermakers, oilers, crane operators, catalyst personal, venders for support equipment and logistics. I prepare the equipment with the operators on shift or in and outages situation a larger group of qualified operators. I oversee to the unit issues, deficiencies, abnormalities from the refinery shift manager, and understanding of the documentation in the refinery log. Oversee documentation of any and all deficiencies within running units and the reporting of that. Requirements of daily qualification on your VTA system. Training of others and yourself each day, of the operation needs. Point out unit cleanliness of class “A” material. Review all work permits, Compose all high risk paper work, and evaluate maintenance day #1, shift number #1 and the number two’s. Contractors consist of several trades- 100 hundred men daily.
