Daily Duties at Flint Hills Resources:

Maintenance Day number one position. Directing the maintenance within the units I am qualified to run, on a day to day basis 365. "Safe work Permit" process, to do work with/on hydrocarbon based equipment. Switching deficient equipment or shutting down controlled or uncontrolled. Updating of the procedure, with modification or not.. Management over seeing all moves. Preparation of the work area, to get at it in a safe manner. The environment from a controlled or uncontrolled situation. I prepare the equipment with the operators on shift or in and outages situation a larger group of qualified operators.. You oversee the training of the operators, proper use of procedures. I operate certain these units. The area I am qualified to operate is in the 300 million dollar range for the equipment. I oversee these units within the parameters and goals of that shift, following environmental parameters, regulatory agencies, state and federal laws. I respond to the reporting unit issues, deficiencies, abnormalities from the refinery shift manager, and documentation in the refinery log. I oversee all work in the units and have the number one on shift understand and follow. I oversee work Permits, MOC's (manage of change). Operating computer systems that consist of-Video Spec, DCS, Provox, Enterprise 1,2,3,Bently neveada,System1,PLC,HMI,Square Monox (UOP licensed), Kronos, AKNA, Wings, VTA, Impact, Maximo, Citrix, Fire King, Johnson Controls, Fischer, Silent Knight Wet & Dry, Intelligent, Viking. I safely follow procedure, MSDS, cleaning of all foreign contaminants of heavy metals, hydrocarbon using such methods as nitrogen, steam, lighter hydrocarbons to cut the heavier product. Keeping this all contained within the recovery system. Documentation of any and all deficiencies within running units and reporting of that. Checking and verifying all levels in vessels and tower for accuracy with the console operator. Check all environmental technology weather it’s an analyzer or Manuel-cartridge type. Checking burners, verifying the NOX & SOX's are within their environmental parameter.I prepare the Isolation blind for the equipment, vessel, and towers. Permit the work.
