Daily Duties at Flint Hills Resources:

All conditions day to day operations 24/7 365. Good turnovers, every day for that shift Review the upcoming working day or night shift. Review turnover book and log entries from the previous shift. Discuss safety, environmental, shift objectives. Stretch and prepare and understand Personal protective equipment. Bump your Hydrogen sulfide badge, oxygen deficiency badge as a team. Head out for the unit your running for the shift with the proper PPE. Looking, listening, and using your nose for odd smells. You are outside looking over the switchgear (electrical) for any abnormalities or alarms- call #1 for notification & console operator. Next there are several dozen electrical and turbines pumps- checking oil, grease, noise, vibration, belt wear, cooling blades, seal flush, seal mediums of all sorts, cooling for the bearings. Several Compressors’ surveillance round, there is a check-off sheet and documentation sheet. Checking all reservoir levels de-gas vents, spillback valves, temperatures of intakes & discharge exhaust, steam usage, and temp. Water tests are next for the steam system- reports to #1 any abnormalities. Checking and verifying all levels in vessels and tower for accuracy with the console operator. Manuel drains several water boot and gas systems. Check all environmental technology weather it’s an analyzer or Manuel-cartridge type.
