Daily Duties at Yorktowne Cabinets, Inc.:
Was hired to be a leader and catalyst of change in a challenging turnaround situation for both the company and the plant as the company was not profitable, the plant layout was old and the operation very inefficient, and the unionized workforce was hostile towards management. Lead and have direct management responsibility for 312 associates working on multiple shifts in manufacturing. Manage labor and variable expense budget of $7.1MM. A trainer, facilitator, and coach for Kaizen events, 5S implementation, safety, planning, and special projects. Manage plant operations and production levels and work closely with product engineering, customer service, and sales & marketing departments. Set goals, forecast manufacturing performance, and make presentations/reports to parent company management. Ensure a safe and OSHA compliant workplace for all.
