Daily Duties at Los Nietos School District:
>Work as part of interdisciplinary team to initially develop, then annually revise curriculum guide to deliver material through lecturing, demonstrating, using audio-visual aids and supplemental technology and presentations to engage student learning and participation. Set clear short-term and long-term goals to drive instruction. >Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops and educational conferences to maintain and improve professional competence. Participate in faculty and full district wide staff meetings and serve on committees as required. >Develop and submit weekly and long range unit plans containing standards, essential questions, assessments and lesson plans; assign lessons and review homework, and keep accurate grading using the latest technology including PowerSchool, PowerGrade, PowerPoint, MSOffice, Word, Excel; accessing the internet to research effective strategies and analyze student data to improve education process as a whole. >Consistently administer tests to evaluate pupil progress, record results, and issue meaningful reports to inform parents of progress. Meet bi-annually during Parent Conference week to discuss student progress with parents and recommend actions for improvement. Conduct informal communication, meetings & prepared & distributed monthly class Newsletter to sustain parent communication. >Create and implement student intervention plans when necessary for students with special needs, (IEP) and differentiate instruction for general education students using SDAEI, ELD & other methodologies. >Abide by all state and federal mandates in reporting sexual or physical abuse and neglect. Uphold the school's student management policies and procedures (i.e. attendance records, dress code, etc.) and report to the school administrators when necessary. >Retain effective supervision and discipline in the classroom. Work with other teachers and administrators to address and resolve student issues. >Lead and participate in student activities such as: sponsoring student activities or student organizations, coaching a sports team, working with parents and the community as part of a committee or group, provide morning or after school supervision, and chaperoning student activities. >Special projects and duties outside of primary teaching responsibility as assigned. This includes planning, coordination, implementing and reporting back to administration upon completion of said project.
