Daily Duties at Sabic Americas Inc:
• Performed server and workstation updates and patches as required thru WSUS, Epo orchestrator or manually as required • Provided hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting support for servers/desktop Workstations • Supported 2 local sites approximately 250+ workstations, 8 - 2003 servers locally, client base, Batch scripting • Provided restores within 20 minutes, Laptop/Desktop imaging SCCM GDP-1.5 hours, • The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for supporting approximately 100 users in a corporate office. The Technician will be supported by a team of IT support personnel in remote offices. The desktop environment is a typical MS Windows environment with Windows XP Windows 7 desktops as well as various mobile devices. • • Answer and respond to requests for technical assistance in person, electronically, and via phone • • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues • • Create work orders and assign, update, and close them in a timely manner. • • Log and document all help desk interactions • • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention • • Work with team members to resolve technical issues as well as gain knowledge of environment • • Work with team members to on purchasing requests; receiving and managing inventory for the local office • • Provide a confident and professional support experience with end users and ensure problems are routed and completed in a timely manner • Works under the direction of the Manager of Networks and Infrastructure while taking additional direction from the Senior Systems Engineer and Senior Network Engineer. This position requires excellent customer service and organizational skills to support all levels of employees, vendors, consultants and support resources as well as CXO level executives. Most importantly the Support Technician shall support and work closely with the Database Systems Group (DSG), Application Systems Group (ASG) as well as other vendors and contractors associated with IT. This position requires the ability to function successfully in both team and independent work environments. • Supports and maintains the desktops, laptops, VOIP phones, mobile devices, and video conferencing equipment. • Provides support for the server and network equipment as needed in coordination with Senior team members. • Manage and update Helpdesk tickets in a timely manner. • Perform on-site and remote technical support. • Maintains excellent communication, as appropriate with internal customers and IT resources as well as external partners, consultants, and support resources. • Creates and maintains good technical documentation. • Provides after-hours availability as needed. • After-hours on-call support rotation may be required at some point as needed. • Performs other duties as assigned. supported lab envirements, Antivirus, Networking, Server admin.
