Daily Duties at Make A Wish Foundation Of America:

I was recruited to this organization based on my work in conducting a highly sensitive and successful fraud investigation involving one of their operations. I was the first person to hold this position and was able to start with a blank sheet and design the function. I also set up a national program of education and audit practices that decreased confirmed fraud over 90% in the first three years. This position allowed me to enhance internal control processes on both a local and national level and provide guidance and assistance with accounting issues, government regulations, external audit engagements and governance policies. I conducted internal investigations throughout the country as needed working with both local and Federal agencies. I was fortunate to be able to build a strong team that could work independently or as part of a larger group.
