Daily Duties at U.S. Army:
Evidence Custodian assigned to a USACIDC Detachment. Employee handles evidence from local, state and federal authorities as well as for Grand Jury proceedings. Employee has full responsibility for maintaining accountability, for all physical evidence. Employee is responsible for receiving, logging, securing, tracking, and disposing of all physical evidence. Responsible for maintaining chain of custody for each piece of evidence to ensure outcome of an investigation is not jeopardized. Ensures that only the individuals who are authorized access to evidence and that the evidence is not compromised or altered. Employee may collect physical evidence from the crime scene or may receive evidence from the investigating agent. Evidence is inventoried and recorded on an evidence custody document. Maintains an evidence ledger to show accountability by cross-referencing.
