Daily Duties at Vermeer Equipment Of Texas:
• Primary job functions included operating, inspecting, and evaluating trenching equipment, brush chippers, directional drills, terrain levelers, and backhoes to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper routine maintenance specifications were met. Responsibilities include utilizing electronic diagnostic test equipment, problem solving malfunctions, assessing required repair parts, and conducting repairs of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, diesel and compression ignition engines, engine fuel systems, air induction and exhaust systems, cooling systems, and computerized engine monitoring systems. Additional job elements include equipment disassembly, examining parts for damage or excessive wear, assembly and repair of gear systems and subassembly components, track frame alignments, transmission repair and maintenance, and repairing closed loop hydraulic systems, and monitoring the performance of computerized monitoring systems and the sensors that control them. Additional skill sets include work order write-ups, part and supply ordering, inventory control, use of power and air tools, welding, advanced oxyacetylene cutting, and conducting field repairs.
