Daily Duties at Directorate Of Logistics:
• Responsibilities included performing preventative maintenance checks, scheduling maintenance for vehicles and heavy equipment; maintaining vehicle service records, diagnose equipment and vehicle malfunctions to determine required repairs of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems or components and complete necessary repairs to proper specifications and ensure operating efficiency. Conduct in-progress and pre-final inspections as required at unit and DS/GS level on various types of equipment. Experience includes but is not limited to M9 ACE Combat Earthmover, LMTVs, FMTVs, HMMWVs, HMMTs, D7 Dozers, DV43 RTCH, Scrapers, and Forklifts of various sizes, ammunition trailers and various utility trailers. Additional skills required to perform these tasks include troubleshooting and use of engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment, calibration devices, and various tools to repair and replace worn parts or subassemblies for combustion engines, power trains, and chassis components of military equipment and tracked vehicles. Also prepared vehicles for operation under abnormal conditions by sealing, waterproofing, and servicing and special fuel and lubricants. Additional core job elements include cataloging and pulling replacement parts for installation, inventory control, updating digital and hard copy technical manuals and schematics, advanced oxyacetylene cutting, welding or soldering broken parts or structural members, and conducting field repairs as necessary
