Daily Duties at Zebra Technologies:
Manage a team of 4 Product Managers and a Product Specialist overseeing a product line of 14 products and their associated accessories. Direct and guide Product Managers through all phases of the Product Development Cycle, including OEM related activities, in support of a $100M revenue stream. Job Description: Manage team of 5 associates on a daily basis. Provide direction and guidance to Product Managers and Product Specialist through product development; post sales product support activities and all phases of the product development cycle including OEM related activities. Review project progress on a regular basis for up to 28 separate hardware and software products and accessories. Daily Tasks and Work Activities: Product Road Map: I was responsible for the development and maintenance of the Mobile Product Line Road map. I was responsible for the creation of PowerPoint roadmap presentations for customer and executive level presentations as well as maintenance of the corporate Road map database used to establish the plan of record for Engineering and development teams. Strategic Planning: For the last 4 – 5 years I established the Mobile product line Research and Development priorities for the upcoming calendar year. Each product initiative was ranked by order of importance using investment requirements and 3-year revenue projections in support of initiative ranking. Provided 3-year strategy presentation in 2011 and 2012 to executive management team.. Generated quarterly performance reports that details product line performance versus Corporate and Board of Directors expectations. Management: Responsible for the establishment of all associates Goals and Objectives and ensuring that they align with corporate imperatives.. I provided coaching and direction regarding executive management presentations to promote new product ideas and gain approval for financial resources. Provided Managerial support to Product Managers and Project Managers during monthly project reviews with supporting customer data and market requirements background when needed to move project agendas forward. Financial Responsibilities: Responsible for identifying and managing departmental expense budget for the Mobile Product Management team (~$2M Budget). I Reviewed and approved all product line pricing proposals and special opportunity discount pricing generated by my Product management team. I attended monthly regional (North America, Latin America, EMEA & APAC) planning meetings to coordinate Product Management revenue projections with Corporate Planning and Corporate Sales projections Operational Duties: Review all Mobile related Engineering and Manufacturing Change order initiatives. Support all major customer opportunities including; technical support, revenue projections and pricing proposals. Represented Product Management on mobile battery development team. Provide product line direction to battery team and potential battery cell vendors. I established a weekly Design Verification status meeting with Engineering, Application Development, Project Management and Product Management in attendance.
