Daily Duties at Zebra Technologies:

Managed the Product Development and release of Portable Bar Code Printer Products. Identified product requirements based on competitive positioning, cost criteria, pricing strategy and Market opportunity. Wrote associated Product Sales support literature. Established and Managed Product Launch and Customer Beta Test requirements. Partnered directly with VAR and Channel partners to ensure product availability and information was readily available for cultivating revenue opportunities. Job Description: Manage the development and release of Mobile Portable Bar Code Printer Products. Identify product requirements based on competitive positioning, cost criteria, pricing strategy and Market opportunity. Write associated technical Product Sales support literature. Establish and Manage Product Launch and Customer Beta Test requirements. Work directly with VAR and Channel partners to ensure product availability and information is readily available for cultivated opportunities. Daily Tasks and Work Activities: Provide market and customer profile material to Management and Engineering teams to drive home product requirements rational, emphasizing market opportunity and delivery objective requirements. Develop and gain Management approval of Product/Market requirements for all assigned products and associated accessories. Manage progress of product development, on a daily basis, with Engineering and Operational teams to ensure project remains on schedule and within cost targets. This would include reviewing Industrial Design, Electrical functionality, printer software functionality requirements, and progress toward geographic and wireless radio compliance certifications. Ensure product design and construction is compatible with Manufacturing Operations capabilities. Meet with Material Planning team to track material availability and costs for new product development requirements as well as supporting currently released products to ensure revenue objectives continuity. Coordinate with product Design Assurance team to develop and prioritize product qualification test requirements. Manage End Of Life process for assigned product that was being replaced by new products. Write notifications to Customers, Partners and Sales representatives. Manage ordering and fulfillment requirements in support of intended End of Life objectives. Create, review and/or edit all associated Product Marketing materials as well as web site content for technical accuracy, significant product functionality and usage case intent. Provide product pricing, product features and product line plans to Sales and Marketing teams to maintain product line focus and market objectives of product line. Train Sales Engineers, Technical Support and Service organizations as part of the product Launch process. Train Sales team on product features, product positioning in the market as well as in context of existing product line prior to and after product release. Present product line features and product roadmaps to customers, partners and resellers. Participate in assigned trade shows; booth set up, booth attendance, be available to present new and existing product plans to key accounts and executive management. Provide sell price and margin analysis to Management and Sales for large-scale opportunities requiring special discounts Establish process to assimilate OEM products as well as product transfers resulting from company merger. Ensure vendor and partner agreements are complete. Ensure support applications and literature are in place. Establish the implementation of a complete product support methodology including: customer call flow, problem escalation and repair/replace process. Provide technical support and product line updates to strategic alliance partners. Review field return activity and identify significant product design issues that contributed to field returns. Work with Engineering team to improve product design to address reason for product returns. Provide technical support to customers and Sales to address customer requirements and resolution to technical issues associated with assigned products. Produce quarterly reports detailing product line performance in sales, revenue and profitability. Provide detailed out look of expected product performance for upcoming quarter. Update Product Road Map on a quarterly basis for assigned products in the context of entire product line offering.
