Daily Duties at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems:

• Interpret and analyze IT security policies, directives, standards, and guidelines from Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), NIST, FISMA, DCID 6/3 and DoDIIS • Participated in the creation and writing of policy documents e.g. National Security Systems Chief Information Security Officer, Certification and Authorization Standard of Operating Procedures and Security Control Implementation Guide • Advise IT security senior management and multiple sub divisions on new security testing, assessments, developments within the intelligence community for internal and external customers • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessment testing and auditing by utilizing tools i.e. DISA Gold Disk, Nessus, MVM, DoD STIG, NMap, CIS-CAT, and eRetina to ensure all recommended security controls have been applied • Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to identify key activities needed to correct the IT system of vulnerabilities and weaknesses, responsible parties, and to ensure corrective actions are taken a timely manner • Develop an enterprise wide contingency disaster recovery plan which is conducted during the annual assessment of a system which includes architecture on the enterprise level • Conducting the kick-off meeting to discuss IT security requirements to represent the NSS CISO office • Ensure all programs are in compliance with the IT Security directives and policies of the DHS and NSS CISO and report deficiencies to the applicable governing Chief Information Security Officer • Lead the Telecommunications Monitoring and Assessment Program (TMAP) annual inspection to ensure compliance of telecommunication systems and received the Heritage Award for completing the project in a timely manner • For the Telephone Control Officer (TCO) effort, serve as the liaison between the customer and the commercial vendors, ensure installation procedures are followed, report outages and initiate maintenance actions and track telecommunication devices
