Daily Duties at Whitin Community Center:

Oversaw all aspects of day to day operations of the facility and programs within it. Direct operations in 4 recreational department in non-profit family fitness and recreation center with 3,000 - 4500 members and an off-site location for the outreach youth program. Supervise and collaborate with program directors on programming and departmental concerns, providing salient data, suggestions and coaching to help them make informed, appropriate decisions that promote excellence in service delivery and member retention. Oversee all management and administrative functions in absence of executive director. Created, implemented and managed the program of a Quality Committee (comprised of Board of Trustees, employees and members); the Committee monitors, reviews and evaluated proposals for new programs and services. Crisis Management: Following flooding by the Blackstone River that necessitated a massive cleanup and renovation effort, raised community awareness, fostering community partnerships generated donations that funded the recovery efforts. Collaborate with Board of Trustees in support of upcoming capital campaign for a large future facility renovations. Revitalized Outreach program ages 8–13 . ( now comprises 25 children weekdays, 68 on Saturday swim and 30 in summer theater program. Played key role in securing donations and off site facility which is funded entirely by donations. Built program from Saturday-only activities with minimal participation to 6 days a week in an offsite center with 353 participants who generated 9,000+ visits in 2006. Spearheaded fundraising and write grant applications to cover $100K annual operating costs. Fundraising efforts and outreach generated $500K+ in past 4 years. Authored, obtained and administered Commercial Development Block Grants (CDBG) totaling $360K in 6 years that funded scholarship memberships for low income families. Orchestrated partnerships, educational alliances, business and community relations that provide enrichment programs.
