Daily Duties at Cellomics, Inc.:

Managed all quality control activities for both fluorescent microscopy based instrumentation and reagent manufacturing including supervision of QC staff. Managed the following daily activities for 2 reagent QC staff: 1) performance of raw material and component testing, 2) in process testing, and 3) final functional testing of reagent kits to ensure that all testing met or exceeded established specifications. Reagent QC staff was trained to accept or reject product and component test results per documented processes. When issues with product or component testing were identified, these were discussed with QC staff and appropriate other groups including, manufacturing, development staff or suppliers depending on the issue (The reagent QC program was well implemented and functioning at the time I took over as QC Director.). Reagent QC staff was also involved in new product alpha testing of reagents and of new software applications for the instrument, providing valuable feedback to development. Co-managed instrument production with the Manufacturing Engineer and Materials Management staff ensuring that production deadlines were met. This included management of the daily activities of instrument production staff as they assembled and tested the instruments. Assisted the Manufacturing Engineer in drafting detailed instrument assembly, in process and final functional testing instructions leading to vastly increased production efficiency.
