Daily Duties at Red Path Integrated Pathology, Inc.:

My main objective was to improve the existing quality system for the laboratory and to eventually expand the quality system scope to include other departments. I revised existing laboratory procedures to include required elements and used these as teaching examples so that laboratory staff could continue revising all laboratory procedures to reflect current processes. I revised all existing quality system administrative procedures to reflect current proecsses and administered them. I developed yearly quality metrics, monitored them, and reported them to the laboratory and management on a monthly and then quarterly basis. I initiated CAPA for any identified trends. I prepared all laboratory regulatory documentation for annual renewal and changes. This included federal and different state regulatory documentation. I maintained the manual document control system. I worked with the IT software development group to create documents for software releases. I created a training system for new pathologists. I performed quality checks on client final reports; this included review of all case documentation including medical resports to ensure the final report written by the reporting pathologist correctly integrated all required elements. I participated in all regulatory audits and managed any resulting CAPA projects. I managed all internal and external laboratory profiency testing programs. I maintained all laboratory CAPA documentation and included issues in quality metrics. I performed internal audits according to New York state licensure and College of American Pathologist accreditation requirements.
