Daily Duties at Topcon Medical Laser Systems, Inc:
Reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer Manage operations, and supply chain, including: purchasing, planning, inventory management, contract manufacturers, manufacturing engineering, and logistics for a 18MM Ophthalmic Laser Division of a 1.2BB international company; master schedule; manage top-dollar key-suppliers. Actively participate in supply base negotiations including costing and contract manufacturering. Act as a liason to outside agencies, including regulatory agencies. Direct key change orders in the Product Life Cycle Management system. Assess business continuity risks within the supply base and develop strategies to offset and mitigate against such risks. Use metric based analysis to support operational improvements and to develop strategic plans / investments. Oversees planning, execution and compliance of the operations budget including expense, capital and inventory budgets.Continuously develop new product introduction strategy and project transfer planning to ensure operational readiness. Encourage best practices for operational excellence and continuous improvement within the manufacturing function and with all cross functional interfaces -measuring and driving performance of manufacturing-based KPI’s.Provide technical and managerial leadership in manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, procurement, and logistics. Develop consistent metrics, reports, and communication tools with key business partners, including global divisons and suppliers.
