Collaborated with territory managers for local execution of state contract. Implemented State Medicaid Contracts through lobbying, relationship building, contract reviews and restructuring. Developed a market savvy sales team utilizing consultative and medical sales, scientific staff and local sales teams and Brand Marketing Teams. Coordinated grand rounds and hospital in-services for key institutions/states. Developed marketing brochures and educational brochures/newsletters. Developed and maintained professional relationships with key opinion leaders, especially state Medicaid Directors and State Legislators. Executed in-service training for attending physicians, residents, pharmacists, and nurses on the medical management of diabetes, insulin delivery devices, and primary research studies. Secure formulary position within top targeted hospitals. Negotiated a sole source insulin contract for the 144,000 Kentuckians utilizing insulin under Kentucky Medicaid Collaborated with officials on the Kentucky Health Service Cabinet to add insulin delivery systems (a first in Kentucky) to their formulary. Secured Iowa Medicaid as a Sole Source Insulin Provider December of 2003 through December 2008 Contract generated 152,000 covered lives in insulin segment. Missouri Medicaid secured as a multi-source contract award in 2004 through 2009. Developed and managed key federal accounts, i.e. VA Medical Centers, VISN Headquarters Secured Great Lakes Naval account in 2004 by negotiating with Director of Pharmacy Decreased their pharmacy inventory on non-contract insulin by 60% with associated savings to them of $30 per vial. Negotiated with Illinois Medicaid Deputy Director Jim Parker to win two exclusive insulin contracts for the State of Illinois between 2003 and 2008. Market share growth with the first win found 50% exclusivity on Novo Nordisk brands and the 2007 award generated exclusivity at 75% for the insulin users under Illinois Medicaid totaling approximately 350,000 individuals. Top 5% in nation (out of 275) for market share growth with new product launch of insulin analogue and insulin delivery device, third quarter 2002.
