Daily Duties at Aurora St. Lukes South Shore:
I was to prioritize and implement orders as given, chart the pts. changes and therapy effects, monitor the continuing of treatments the pt. is undergoing, administer medication and insulins at scheduled times, clean and dress wounds, teach and answer pt. questions regarding the therapy they are under, assess the needs when discharged to assure they are dealt with early enough to be in place at discharge, prepare patient to go to other parts of the hospital for treatment at that point, monitor the I and O of the patient, and just assure the patient when needed so as to not over whelm. On top of everything else the most important part of any job is to make sure you assist and work with you fellow employees. Able to work alone or with others to achieve the maximum benefit of writen orders. I also had to lead the nurses on many days and that entailed doing the telemetry strips and report to nurse, admits, discharges, and the assigning of them. Going throughout hospital for needed medications and most times I had to make the medications because on third shift we had no pharmacist.
