Daily Duties at Ppd, Inc.:
• Managed seventeen nationwide investigative sites participating in three protocols involving HIV subjects. Performed and coordinated all facets of the clinical monitoring and site management process as a team lead of PPD’s Anti-Viral/Anti-Infective Division of Clinical Operations. Conducted initiation, interim monitoring, and close out visits to identify, assess and address/rectify problems and ensure compliance with ICH (International Conference on Harmonization), GCP, and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) guidelines, local regulations, and company SOPs. • Conducted site visits to manage required documentation, assess protocol and regulatory compliance, and ensure data could pass quality audits. Collected and reviewed essential regulatory documents. Reviewed electronic CRF for completeness, clarity, legibility, conformity to available source documentation, and adherence to protocol requirements. Maintained regular contact with investigative sites between monitoring visits to confirm that the protocol was being followed, previously identified issues were being resolved, and data was being recorded in a timely manner. Conducted monitoring tasks in accordance with the approved monitoring plan. Responded to company, client, and federal regulatory requirements/audits. Performed drug accountability procedures and ensured prompt reporting of adverse events. • Assisted in the preparation of the monitoring guidelines to be used by all monitors on the study and what to review, complete and submit for each monitoring visit. • Represented PPD in the global medical research community and developed and maintained collaborative relationships with investigational sites and client company personnel. Identified potential investigators with the client. • Lead project team building by mentoring new members, assisting in preparation of project communications and tools, and sharing ideas and suggestions with team. • Facilitated effective communication between investigational sites, the client company/and/or federal government and the PPD project team through written, oral and/or electronic contacts. Documented site visits and issues in management reports and follow-up letters to the site. Utilized the CASCADE monitoring reporting system for documentation of all visit information and visit reports.
