Daily Duties at Stevenson Middle School:

Provided instruction and case management services for students diagnosed with special needs. Planned and prepared lessons, assignments, and instructional materials. Maintained order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effectve learning and takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Created a classroom environment that provides for students involvement in the learning process and enabled each student to achieve learning objectives. Evaluated student progress using appropriate assessment techniques. Selected and used appropriate instructional strategies including, but not limited to, lectures, group discussions, demonstrations, modeling and multimedia teaching aids to present subject matter to students. Conferred with parents and students regarding progress/problems of assigned students, arranged and participated in teacher-parent or teacher student conferences as necessary. Monitored appropriate use and care of equipment, textbooks, materials and facilities. Attended and actively participated in staff and faculty meetings and provided input regarding the planning of instruction goals, objectives and methods. Communicated effecitvely with team members and parents. Participated in professional development relative to special education and other disorders. Implemented toileting protocols when required to special education students. Performed other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
