Daily Duties at New England Coffee Company:

Took responsibility for servicing and developing all convenience store chains for New England Coffee. This included White Hand Pantry, JJ Pepper’s, Minute Mart, Zoomers, Jolley Assonciates, Champlain Farms, and Simon’s Stores. I had overseen all aspects of forecasting, budget P&L, marketing, branding, training, and promotions. Our net profit was over $1 million a year without ever going over our budget. This was a brand new division created at my own suggestion to address the fast growing, private brand coffee category in convenience stores and convenience store distributors. This required that I work extremely closely with our marketing department, our distribution team, our national service manager, customers, distributors, and prospects. Traveled to assess the needs of customers and distributors, manage tradeshows, train customers and distributors, and monitor their performance. I was responsible for creating the accounting and finance department’s annual budget, and reviewed all financial items and reports on an annual basis.

What they like about New England Coffee Company:

Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
