Daily Duties at Sovereign Bank:
Highly visible leadership role, directing Commercial Field Examination, Auto Finance Audit and Commercial Loan Compliance Departments (portfolios comprised of approximately $1B of commercial / asset based exposures with estimated 250 field exams annually, and $1B in auto finance exposure, with up to 1,000 audits per year). Managed a team of 19 professionals. Focus on (i.) executing examination reviews and evaluating collateral to determine quality, quantity and validity; (ii.) streamlining Auto Finance group – post Banco Santander / Sovereign Bank acquisition – merging two disparate audit groups into a cohesive and unified organizational culture; (iii.) enhancing production and quality of reports to executive management; and (iv.) implementing best practices audit methodology to maximize performance. Role required ability to engage in positive dialogue to retain a productive working environment, while being aware of the sensitivities and anxieties resulting from corporate reorganization
