*Supervises 3 direct report technicians and three pharmacists. *Strategically plans, coordinates, and directs Pharmacy Department operations to provide for quality pharmaceutical care to patients. *Acts as department time keeper to ensure appropriate time card submission to payroll; approves time cards and makes scheduling adjustments. *Provides for an effective, well-trained technician staff by interviewing, hiring, training, orienting and performing annual performance evaluations, recommending pay changes when appropriate. *Completed rounding with an interdisciplinary team of MDs, RN and respiratory therapists; made recommendations and patient interventions. *Appraises programs recommending changes or updates to maximize available technology, personnel, and resources; attends workshops, seminars, and classes to keep current with new developments in drug therapy. *Delivers accurate drug information and counseling, acting as an information source for physicians, nursing staff and other departments; reviews and interprets physician orders to assure that the drug, dosage form and dose is appropriate for the patient’s age, weight and comorbidities. *Assures that all pharmaceuticals are purchased, stored, controlled, and dispensed in a safe, effective manner which meets all regulatory requirements.
