— Responsible for all business retention and expansion programs such as the $2.2M revolving loan program, loan administration committee, the Superfund Brownfields program, enterprise zone, recycling market development zone, and the foreign trade zone. In conjunction with the City of Madera and the County of Madera, we developed a One Stop Shop for Community Development which was beneficial for business recruitment as well as expansion. Reduced program deficiencies, increased effectiveness of program, wrote adopted policies and procedures, and generated presentations and recommendations for jurisdictional review.
What they like about Madera County Economic Development Commission:
You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
