Daily Duties at State Of Missouri Department Of Corrections:
Managed a caseload of 90 clients with diverse backgrounds. Counseled clients on a daily basis to determine their compliance with the conditions of supervision; determine other underlying social or psychological issues that impact the client’s ability to function as a productive citizen. Identify problem areas within the clients approach to life using the “Pathways to Change” program. Co-facilitate the program. Conduct background checks. Recognize symptoms of drug and alcohol abuse. Make treatment referrals for alcohol, drugs, mental health and other beneficial resources. Conduct fieldwork consisting of employment checks and home visits throughout the county. During home visits monitor status of family members and recognize victims of domestic violence. Recognize symptoms of spouse and child abuse and other at risk family members. Conduct crisis intervention as required. Provide assistance in securing medical treatment, information on legal rights and resources available through state programs. Conduct in depth intake evaluations of individuals and at times family members in need of social services and other resources as required. Monitor enhanced supervision cases. Administer drug testing. Track an interstate compact caseload. Conduct liaison service for client or family members with the court as required. Write and submit supervision assessment reports to the State Court and Parole Board. Possess knowledge of criminal investigations. Investigate, apprehend and detain individuals in violation of probation or parole and other criminal acts. Appear in court to present evidence and assist in the prosecution of criminals. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all court officials, law enforcement agencies and social service agencies in the community. Coordinate regularly with State courts.
