Daily Duties at Smithfield Packing:
Managed human resources function for 1000+ associate operations. Supervised a staff of HR Administrator and 3 HR trainers. Monitored and coordinated department compliance with Smithfield Foods Human Resources policies, Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines, and other appropriate human resources-related laws, regulations, and best practices. Assisted with and coordinated investigations pertaining to issues of management/employee misconduct and policy infractions; coordinated performance management, grievance, and related documentation, and provided advice and guidance to managers in these areas. Maintained complaint and discipline database to track HR activity and department issues. Prepared all responses to North Carolina Workforce Commission claims and appeals.
