Daily Duties at Tennessee Valley Authority :
As Industrial Safety Consultant III, I provided consultation to employees and site management regarding existing and new safety and health requirements offering implementation and problem resolution support. I provided corporate oversight in adherence to OSHA and TVA’s safety procedures, at a TVA major construction of a 28 cell cooling tower and related equipment and components. Worked with the Project Managers in the development of a comprehensive and executable site specific Project Safety Plans and to ensure project safety plans are being adhered to. Provided positive reinforcement of the correct safety behaviors and coaching of inappropriate behaviors. I acted as the corporate oversight and as Lead Safety Specialist for construction and major modifications to ensure that the workforce maintained a safety culture in adherence to safety. I also worked with Projects Management to ensure that safety expectations were delivered during in-processing of new and returning teammates; Participated in Pre-Job Briefs and Post-Job critiques. Conducted Human Performance and Safety Observations to determine if trends are evident or observation adjustments were needed. Participated in root cause investigations associated with projects safety incidents; Assisted in developing Oversight Plans and JHA's for Emergent and Non-Emergent work activities. I conducted job specific safety training. Supervised 28 member FIN crew in the surveillance and maintenance of raw service water, fire protections systems, Appendix R emergency lighting and plant lighting. Worked with site engineering in the development and implementation of designed change noticed for system modifications. Familiar with OSHA regulations and NFPA standards as they relate to new and existing construction.
