Employed expert skills as a program analyst/officer, gained during prior work with humanitarian aid organizations and private voluntary organizations (PVOs) as well as a congressional internship, to support various government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and PVOs in humanitarian initiatives, primarily involving Third World countries. As a Disaster Operations Specialist, contracted by OFDA during “surge” situations, managed international responses to emergencies in the Horn of Africa, working from the USAID Washington office, for a six-month period.
