Daily Duties at National Public Radio :

To close a critical knowledge gap within the Division, I developed detailed documentation describing distribution business functions and their relationships to one another. Functions and processes included, but were not limited to, customer development, satellite billing components, satellite transmission systems and program delivery processes that generate revenue for full-time and occasional use of the satellite. I also performed analysis to develop requirements for expanding the delivery of targeted advertising content in the form of funding credits purchased by public radio sponsors intended for specific audiences. Additional analyses efforts included requirements for improvements in customer billing, reviewing strategic and organizational goals and objectives, developing a “white paper” on the government’s Emergency Alert System and NPRs role, making recommendations for high level designs, functional requirements, determining revenue projections and breakeven points and assessing technology impacts.

What they like about National Public Radio :

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
