Daily Duties at Dcfs:

As an emergency response social worker, I rendered response to third parties about claims of child abuse and child welfare concerns generated through a county hotline. I wrote reports with regards to the allegations of Child Abuse and testified in Family Court as to the legality of claims made against them. Preceding my knowledge of the claims, I acted as a liaison to find a resolution if possible, made referrals to pertinent resources to aid needy persons and families, and when necessary, provided emergency external placement for children at risk of child abuse. I also acted as a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department liaison providing recommendations on behalf of the Department of Children and Family Services with regard to procedures and policy on suspected child abuse. I responded to calls with the Los Angeles Sheriffs where there were cases of Suspected Child abuse. I testified as to the role that child abuse played in these cases. I wrote reports that were submitted to both Family Court and Criminal Courts that were used to prosecute defendants. External communication was made with various community service providers including but not limited to, Family Courts, Healthcare Agencies, Educators, Community Social Service Organizations, and Religious Organizations.
