Daily Duties at Office Of The Inspector General, Dc Government:
•Monitored the compliance of DC businesses with the regulatory requirements of DC Government regulation, regulatory policies and procedures. •Ensured that DC businesses are in compliance with both state and federal laws as well as the DCMR 27 and the Government Auditing Standards. •Monitored the insurance requirements, contract adherences and allowable mitigation approaches reported by DC businesses to maintain regulatory compliance. •Generate report of contract findings from agencies that are incompliant with financial policies and procedures. •Responsibilities included assessing financial statements, Contracts, federal regulations incorporating 508 compliance, C&A certifications and Privacy Impact Implications (PII). •Developed strong understanding of Government audit policies, Sarbanes – Oxley (SOX) act compliances and identified gaps between the existing surveillance processes of the department with the process changes required to monitor compliance. Ensures that departments within the DC government abide by the DCMR27 and the Government Auditing Standards policies. I also ensure that financial fund that is spent on a business venture is accounted for and assist in preventing wasteful spending. In an event where funds may be missing and or unaccounted for I assist in gathering information to perform an audit in order to locate funds that are missing. I also analyze contracts between parties to ensure that guidelines are met and both parties are in compliance.
