Dr. Greenwood was the hired into ADS as a senior Software Systems Engineer with some AI background. DR. Greenwood formed an Intelligent Technology & Tools Group (ATTG), made up of control system and AI engineers, to open new AI paths forward, and invent new AI software. Dr. Greenwood grew the technology team to address the emergence of numerous advanced multiprocessor computers; from Lisp Machines, Thinking Machine, and five other vendors new multiprocessor computers back in the late 1980s. This group delivered the first prototypes in complex solution systems. Dr. Greenwood became the lead of the sales, application, and integration of AI and new technologies into complex computing systems and solutions for the Government; for instance autonomous route planning in prototype automobile GPS devices. These included managing and documenting, and becoming a primary communicator of technology applications that solve unsolved problems for the customers and services.
