Utilized floodplain management expertise to provide technical assistance to local and state officials responsible for enforcement and management of their community’s floodplain ordinances and with addressing permitting issues for development within the regulated flood hazard areas. • Conducted planning and technical reviews of applications for projects proposed for development in floodplains, flood control/prevention, and mitigation grants. • Assisted FEMA and local officials in development of flood hazard re-mapping priorities. • Participated in a variety of public and professional forums including several training workshops, seminars and conferences to promote sound floodplain management in Virginia and the nation. • Developed and maintained databases for pertinent community floodplain management information. • Promoted multi-objective strategies for floodplain management during engineering reviews.
