Daily Duties at Dona Ana County Detention Center:

As a Sergeant at the Dona Ana County Detention Center, a 900 bed facility, I was initially put in the position as the Medical Sergeant supervising 7 Officers, the Medical Unit and both the Adult Male/Female Halcyon Units. During the facility’s 6-month rotation, I was then assigned to the Juvenile Facility in which I supervised 8 Officers and up to 34 youth. Responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the jail, processing the booking and release of offenders, ensuring accurate head counts, reviewing incident reports, and writing daily briefings for the next oncoming shift Sergeant.
