Daily Duties at Materials & Energy Corporation (Subsidiary Of Perma Fix):
This is the second role I played with M&EC. I led a team of environmental engineers who were preparing Waste Treatment Protocols for specific waste treatment campaigns. These were campaign planning documents that pulled together all pertinent waste description, safety, industrial hygiene and radiological information for the waste campaign into a single planning document, and then developed treatment process sequencing and control instructions to govern the series of operations that would be employed in the treatment of the waste. The document also established the post-treatment sampling, analysis and characterization instructions to prove whether the treated waste met the Land Disposal Restrictions and the Waste Acceptance Criteria of the Disposal Site. The Waste Treatment Protocol served as a waste-specific overlay to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation. This team also played a major role in the writing of new SOPs.
What they like about Materials & Energy Corporation (Subsidiary Of Perma Fix):
You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
